Dapoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that is used to treat a variety of mental/mood disorders, including depression and other disorders that affect the serotonergic system. SSRIs treat a wide variety of mental/mood disorders, including depression and other disorders that affect the serotonergic system. There are two types of SSRIs, and these are tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) and serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRIs). Tricyclic antidepressants work by affecting the chemicals in the brain that send and receive signals from theserotonin and norepinephrine systems, while SRIs treat the same disorders.
